”Vår operativa chef Jini Nälsén följde med Stefan, en av våra installatörer, ut på kundbesök. Läs hennes egna ord om upplevelsen.”

Everytime Brightecos installation team get back after an installation, they report on glowing reviews from customers. Wanting to experience this first hand, I decided to take a day away from the daily grind and help out with an installation.

Stefan, our lead installer informed me that we would be fitting up lamps at a school named Olandersskolan in Skärplinge ( Municipality of Tierp) and fine tuning the existing installation.

On the drive there I had a chance to catch up with Stefan who to my suprise, only packed a ladder, a small toolbox and the lamps in the car. The electricity was already prepared at site so mounting the lamps would be quick and easy.

I asked Stefan what he thought was the highlight of installing lamps. “Meeting people and finding a solution to their problems,” he said.

As we pulled up to the school, Roger the building-caretaker was waiting for us. While showing us to the classroom he had questions about Brighteco, our technology and why subscribing to light as a service was more advantageous than owning a lamp. Stefan immediately took the opportunity to explain the benefits of a circular economy model.

As we opened the door to the first classroom where a few lamps were to be installed, the teacher who immediately recognised Stefan smiled broadly and said that she was extremely satisfied with the lighting in her classroom and that it changed her work environment immensely. She wished that Brighteco provided the lighting for the entire school. And there it was –  the exact same response the team always reported back after every installation. This was a telling moment for me. We are making a world of difference and I got to hear it for myself.

Once inside the classroom, the children immediately began asking questions about the  lamps. A large part of the installation team’s job is to take on the role of educators; talking with school children about the importance of caring for the environment and the sustainable use of resources. We not only encourage children to ask questions but also take the time to answer all their questions.

”That could be my old TV in the ceiling!” said one little boy. Utterly amazed by the fact that we manufacture lamps from flat screens sourced from waste and recycling centres. That was profound. Getting this kind of reaction is why we are grateful to be able to provide schools with lighting while enlightening them. Because, when you start young, change is inevitable.

The next room we went to was unoccupied. The room was used as a lunchroom and the lighting we previously installed fit the purpose. A teacher mentioned that the room was also going to be used as an activity room with two work spaces at the far end of the room.

“Would you like us to adjust the lighting to fit the everchanging purpose of the room?” Stefan asked.

“Absolutely,” she said. Wondering about extra expenses the school would have to take on. Stefan explained that adjustments are included in the subscription cost and got on with fitting up more lamps. What a significant moment! I witnessed in action, Brightecos cornerstones of adaptability, hardware-modularity and actually meeting customer needs fulfilled at this installation.

Elated and proud, I left the school with deeper insights into our products, customer relationships and the vision of Brighteco. We truly are in the business of Enlightenment and we’re a 100% Future Proof.
